In English it says "Our President: Obama in 08
and the word below it is "Hope." (of course).
It's common in Russia for the ads to be about how a certain candidate is "ours," and I continued that here, especially with the hope (pesky word!) that he won't loved in only one part of the country, or by one group of people; that he'll be loved universally.
Sometimes he gets mocked for running on hope, but when I have posted my political thoughts on this blog, people have responded that they feel hopeless about politics and how the system could be changed. Obama's policies aren't very different from most other people's, but he brings this style to it, and biography that challenges the system (whatever the system is). George W. Bush got into Yale, cause his dad graduated from Yale--Obama went to Harvard and graduated from there because he is very intelligent and he worked very hard. And so I hope in November that'll I walk by a newstand in Russian and the words will read Обама- Президент США.
